Close Protection Roles


Location: Afghanistan, Iraq, Myanmar, Somalia
Role Description

Provide armed escort/close protection to assigned clients in high risk/austere environments. Ensure the safety and security of individuals on site/location and when moving between locations, including preparing briefs and site/route assessments.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety and security of individuals on site/location and when moving between locations.
  • Respond to emergencies including immediate medical care and/or evacuation.
  • Establish and maintain secure environments.
  • Identify any suspicious activity, people or behaviour.
  • Undertake full risk and threat assessment.
  • Ensure mitigating measures are in place to deter or deny any identified threat and to preserve the security, safety and wellbeing of Clients.
  • Conduct advance planning and preparation of Client travel and movements.
  • Review the safety of a venue before client arrival, for both regular and new locations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of access procedures at all visited locations.
  • Maintain contact with the relevant authorities and security POC at all locations.
Qualifications and Experience Required
  • Minimum 5 years of police, security or military experience with at least 3 years diplomatic or equivalent Close Protection experience in Afghanistan or similar high threat environment.
  • Current Security Industry Authority (SIA) Frontline Close Protection license (UK) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification (US) or recognized equivalent.
  • C1 driving licence and qualified to handle B6 or above armored vehicles.
  • Qualified in the use of authorised weapons and in the use of non-lethal means of control.
  • Licensed to carry assigned/authorized weapons used by Client.
  • FREC/FPOS or equivalent trained and certified.
  • English language (spoken and written) to Level B2 or equivalent.
  • Physically fit without medical restrictions preventing full performance of duties.
